The Los Angeles Clippers and General Manager Mike Dunleavy today have severed ties. Neil Olshey, presently the Clippers’ Assistant General Manager, will assume the duties created by Dunleavy’s departure. Olshey has played an important role in the completion of several significant team transactions
Friday, March 5
Michael Finley has decided to join the Boston Celtics and will sign over the next few days, Finley is expected to sign the prorated veteran minimum in “the next day or so”.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas has announced his intentions to rejoin the Cavaliers and has asked agent Herb Rudoy to begin negotiations with the Cavs on March 22, the first date he can do so.
Thursday, March 4
Boston’s primary target is veteran swingman Michael Finley, a source confirmed.
Finley was bought out of his contract by San Antonio on Monday. Finley is expected to clear waivers tonight. The team also is interested in free agent guard Larry Hughes, but to a lesser degree.
Tuesday, March 2
Allen Iverson will not return to the 76ers this season, The 76ers are expected to make an official announcement within the next few days.
Iverson hasn’t played in a game since Feb. 20, when he took his second leave from the team to care for his sick daughter.
To honor Michael Finley’s request to be released from his contract, the San Antonio Spurs waived the veteran guard. This move will allow Finley to sign with another team and be eligible to participate in the 2010 NBA Playoffs.
Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has waived guard Mike James after coming to a mutual agreement on a contract buyout. James appeared in four games for the Wizards this season, averaging 4.5 points and 1.3 assists.
The Blazers will sign Travis Diener to occupy their 15th roster spot once he clears waivers. Diener was waived by the Pacers on Monday after playing only four games because of an injured big toe on his left foot.
Monday, March 1
Important signing for Ukrainian team Budivelnyk which inked Maceo Baston till the end of the season. The American big man born in 1976 has played 105 games in NBA averaging 2.7ppg and 1.7rpg in 7.9 minutes on the court.
Baston has a long experience with Maccabi Tel Aviv with whom he won twice Euroleague, three times Israeli national league and 3 Israeli Cup.
The Cavaliers will likely be without center Shaquille O’Neal for the remainder of the regular season. O’Neal is set to undergo surgery on his sprained right thumb Monday morning in Baltimore.
The team hasn’t placed an official timetable on his return, but injuries such as his typically take six to nine weeks to heal.

Michael Jordan struck a deal late Friday night to buy a controlling interest in the Charlotte Bobcats. Charlotte owner Bob Johnson announced in a statement that he’s agreed to sell the Bobcats to Jordan, who has been a part-owner of the team since 2006. Jordan has been running the team’s basketball operations.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas and the Washington Wizards agreed to a buyout. The buyout will save the Wizards just over $1M.
Ilgauskas is expected to sign with the Cavaliers 30 days after the date he was traded, but he will also receive offers from Atlanta, Denver and Dallas,

Real Madrid wants to sign Rudy Fernandez following the current season. Fernandez is reportedly uncomfortable in Portland and would be amenable to a return.

The Rockets were the team that made a last minute run at acquiring Amar’e Stoudemire from the Phoenix Suns. The proposed deal had Phoenix receiving Shane Battier and Luis Scola, multiple draft picks and the expiring contract of Brian Cook for Stoudemire, according to sources.
The Jazz passed on an offer that would have sent Boozer to Phoenix, Amar’e Stoudemire to Miami and expiring contracts along with picks to the Jazz,
The Warriors rejected a proposed deal with Memphis that would have sent Monta Ellis to the Grizzlies for O.J. Mayo and Hasheem Thabeet.
